@Milo: It’s entirely possible the same sorts of things can and do happen at other retailers. We have tried to make that clear as we’ve gone along, and we’ve done our best to avoid advocating any other retailers as alternatives because of that. Colder’s, for us, is a series of classic, worst-case textbook-variety examples of exactly how NOT to treat people, but it certainly has no monopoly on those customer-hostile behaviors. It’s not just “Mary”, they are all like that at Colders. And not just Colders; but Steinhafels, American and other loser stores like that. But you are right, Colders is a king of low life, cheap talk, sales tactics.
