<html><img src="img/logo.png" /></html>\n\nSo back when all of this 1GAM stuff started, I thought "hey, this is a great idea... I'm totally gonna do this, devote all the necessary time to make it happen, etc, etc, and NO PRESSURE!"\n\nI was wrong. Tons of pressure. Tons of other commitments in January. Tons of work, tons of attention-stealing moments created and extended by my children. My first real vacation in years. And a few other things that I'll just refer to as "Life".\n\n[[I struggled too! I wanna hear more.|more]]\n[[Wow, I had no trouble at all!|less]]
<html><img src="img/logo.png" /></html>\n\nGood for you. I applaud you. Really. It's not easy for most people, and you should be proud.\n\n[[Moving on...|jan-summary]]
<html><img src="img/logo.png" /></html>\n\nSo, sadly, this is the end of my "game" for January.\n\nI had a great vacation with my family, loooong overdue. No regrets! And no, these are not excuses! They were, largely, family-involved choices I simply had to make, to be a good father and husband.\n\nI really do hope to do better in February. With a few working ideas in January, I think I'll end up with better results for future months' projects. So not a total loss by any means.\n\nI hope you did better than I did. It wouldn't take much!\n\nOh yeah, before I forget: YOUR GAMES. I want to play them! Hit me up on Twitter or find me in the 1GAM G+ group; I'll try any or all of your 1GAM games and give you feedback. :)\n\nSee you in February and beyond, 1GAM'ers!\n\n<html><a href="http://www.alexfalkenberg.com/one-game-a-month/"</a><img src="img/zbot.gif"</img></br>\n</br>\n<a href="http://twitter.com/alexfalkenberg">@alexfalkenberg</a> /twitter </br>\n<a href="https://plus.google.com/101867213559543170219/posts">alex.falkenberg</a> /Google+\n</br>\n<a href="http://alexfalkenberg.com"</a>alexfalkenberg.com</html> /web
<html><img src="img/logo.png" /></html>\n\nGreat, you win!\n\nMaybe that was too easy... Let's move on.\n\n[[OK!|jan-summary]]
<html><img src="img/logo.png" /></html>\n\nHey, 1GAM'ers!\n\nI wonder if you finished your January entry in time...? \n\nI didn't. Or, rather, I decided to do this <html><a href="http://gimcrackd.com/etc/src/"</a>Twine</html> thing for January instead, and that, well, I did more or less finish, since you're reading it now. \n\n[[OK...|ok]]
<html><img src="img/logo.png" /></html>\n\nI know, silly, right? \n\nI had to do something...interactive. \n\nThat was fun, I bet. Or maybe not. Each experience is its own thing--very personal.\n\n[[Uh huh.|jan-summary]]

1GAM January
<html><img src="img/logo.png" /></html>\n\nSo what DID I work on when I was trying to create my 1GAM entry for January?\n\nI didn't have a chance after the New Year to start right away. I first sat down to work on 1GAM sometime around the start of Week Two. My first idea was from my kids (who are chock-FULL of great ideas most of the time!). I hoped to do a basic Yahtzee Jr clone just to get warmed up. Except I started tweaking it, and it all went downhill from there. So many good ideas from my kids, and I wanted to implement a great many of them!\n\nWhich of course there was no time for. I did get a great deal done, all with the ickiest-possible placeholder art, and do I have a few more things I want to add. I hope to differentiate it enough at some point to release on a store somewhere, who knows. With any luck, I'll release it as a 1GAM entry sometime later in the year.\n\nThe third week (and a few days) was Vacation Time. First real one in many years. I had no time to work on anything during that time. Lugged a laptop 2500 miles one-way and back and did... nothing related to 1GAM. iPad sketches of sprites and levels, but nothing really meaty. No regrets, though--the kids were great, and we had a blast!\n\nDuring the drive home (around 25 hours or so, with stops--ouch), I started thinking about Berzerk. You know, "Stop the Humanoid", so-good-Frenzy-got-made Berzerk. Evil Otto. All that. Yeah. Good times from my youth. \n\nThis idea should be easy enough! I can knock this out in a week! Plenty of time!\n \nNope. Family stuff. Kindergarten registration for one kid, Tae Kwon Do belt testing for both kids... This stuff never stops. I wasted a ton of time fiddling with research of the original game, level design, twiddling some new-sprite designs...\n \nBut--it's another idea I hope to tweak and release in a coming month for 1GAM! \n \nI have a few more simple ideas besides those now as a result of some late-night iPad sketching this month. I turn to the iPad more and more for sketching, but I always have a pad of graph paper with me (literally, I carry some pretty much everywhere, always)... Real paper for design stuff still makes me very, very happy. But the iPad is gaining ground.\n \nOK, those were the highlights of my thoughts for January...\n\n[[Let's continue on.|end]]
<html><img src="img/logo.png" /></html>\n\nThere's really not much more to it than that. I was just... busy. Too many things rolling in after the holidays. Family stuff. All those things that aren't supposed to get in the way, but always do. I'm sure you know what I mean.\n\nThis sounds like... excuses. Which I'm not supposed to make, according to the 1GAM project's tagline. I'll explain more in a minute, I promise.\n\nOh, since you're here, and since this is supposed to be a game, what is 2 + 2?\n\n[[4|four]]\n[[wtf?|wtf]]\n
